Our Category 6 Patch leads are Delta verified to be Category 6 compliant, and backward compatible with Category 5 and 5e standards and systems. They conform to TIA/EIA 568-B.2-1, EN50173-1 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards for Category 6. In order to maintain conformance with Category 6 standards, it is necessary for the patch leads to match the rest of the cabling system and to form an overall Cat 6 'system'. Excel Category 6 leads are designed to operate with the renowned Excel cabling system, and when used in conjunction with an accredited Excel Category 6 installation, they are covered by a comprehensive 25 year product and applications warranty. Swept frequency testing is performed up to 250Mhz to ensure that all the performance characteristics far exceed the required standards. Testing in isolation for Category 6 leads is of limited use however, and they must be tested 'in circuit' as part of the Cat 6 system to ensure full compatibility. Excel Category 6 leads are guaranteed to work as part of an Excel Cat 6 network. The cables are of a similar construction to our Category 5e leads, but use low-smoke-zero-halogen-sheathed cable, printed with specification details, as standard. The connectors are a hybrid RJ45 type which are externally similar to AMP plugs, but have internally stepped connector pins to provide better cross talk levels. Strain relief boots are fitted as standard, and the leads come individually bagged to avoid tangling of stored leads. Various lengths and colours are available.
