Do you need an On-Line or Line-Interactive UPS? |

Explanation: Line-Interactive UPS units supply power to the load by passing through the mains power. When a power outage occurs, it switches to supplying power from the batteries. This is the lower cost alternative. On-Line UPS units supply power to the load from batteries all the time, and use the mains to keep the batteries charged. This is a superior technology, and has no cut-over delay, so is suitable for sensitive electronics. If your load is greater than 4800VA you will need to select an on-line UPS as the line-interactive units only go up to 5KVA. |
