Many of APCs UPS units include a function known as SmartSlot.  This is an option module slot in the unit that can be fitted with one of several cards.  These include a range of Network Management Cards that can be used both to manage/monitor the UPS, and for unattended shutdown of one or more computers.  Some of the larger systems now come with a network card pre-installed as standard.

To demonstrate the functionality of these products, APC maintain a set of on-line products that you can connect to for a 'test drive'.  Use the links below to compare the various options.  In each case you will be asked for a username and password, which are both apc.
