Counterfeit APC UPS units

We have been made aware of the fact that counterfeit copies of APC UPS units are being built in the far east and sold elsewhere.  So far the majority of these units have been shipped to the middle east, but we expect that they will start to become available in other areas including the UK.  Obviously these units are illegal, will not be covered by APCs warranty or support, and could be subject to seizure by Customs and Excise.  The units are unlikely to meet safety or certification standards, and could be dangerous or unreliable.
